A lawyer for Kelis has asked the judge to move up a hearing to determine the amount of support payments she will receive because she may be in labor on July 21.
Kelis is seeking hundreds of thousands of dollars to make sure the baby – due next month – is accustomed to the lifestyle that her mother has enjoyed. This includes a request of $20,000 worth of items such as baby strollers and cribs for the little one, as well as $3,500 for a baby nurse.
"But here's the snag. Kelis may be in labor during the hearing. And she needs moneynow. So her lawyer went to court asking to move the hearing date up," reports TMZ.com.
Unfortunately, the judge was on vacation and the substitute judge refused to revise the court calendar.
