Tyler Perry Brings “Colored Girls” To Theaters In 2011

for-colored-girls-who-have-considered-suicide-when-the-rainbow-is-enufTyler Perry’s upcoming film titled "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf"  is coming to theaters in 2011. 

Black Voices is reporting that Tyler Perry has revealed the cast of his upcoming film which will star Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, Whoopi Goldberg, Phylicia Rashad, Jurnee Smollett, Kimberly Elise, Kerry Washington, and Macy Gray.

The film is based on the 1975 play which is still performed today and, “consists of a series of poems performed through a cast of nameless women, known only by a color. It deals with such subjects as love, abandonment, rape, and abortion.”

Filming begins in June in NYC and has a January 14, 2011 release date.
