Twilight’s Laurent Becoming X-Men Mutant

Edi Gathegi is making a career switch from vampire to mutant.

Gathegi who is best known as the soft-spoken vampire Laurent in “Twilight” and “New Moon,” the actor has just joined the growing cast of “X-Men: First Class,” according to E! Online.

Gathegi is set to play Darwin, the first “biracial mutant,” who has the power of “reactive evolution.” (Which means he can adapt to any situation or environment.)  Sounds cool!

So let's say you toss him in water, he will grows gills.  Drop him off somewhere in the middle of the night and he’ll develop night vision,” the website’s Gregory Imler writes. “And don’t bother trying to burn him…His skin will just become fire retardant.”

Edi joins James McAvoy, Alice Eve (“She’s Out of Your League”), Michael Fassbender (“Inglourious Basterds”) and Aaron Johnson (“Kick-Ass”) in the Matthew Vaughn-directed film, due in theaters next summer.

With the IRS hot on his ass, Chris Tucker is reportedly trying to unload his Orlando mansion for an asking price way lower than what he paid.

According to TMZ, the tax-troubled star listed the Montverde property for $2 million … even though he paid $6 million for it just three years ago.

Cats and Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore (PG for animal action and humor) 3-D sequel to Cats and Dogs finds the canines and felines joining forces this go-round after a tabby spy (Bette Midler) goes rogue and hatches a plot to conquer the world. Starring Fred Armisen, Chris O’Donnell and roger Moore, with voice work by Alec Baldwin, Michael Clarke Duncan and Joe Pantoliano.
