Nas is finding out what's it's like to be a real homeowner.  According to TMZ Nas concedes he owes Kelis a skosh less than $300,000 in spousal support. But it seems the most pressing problem is the mortgage for the home Kelis is living in -- Nas is behind $52,989.22.

So Nas' lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, filed a payment plan with the court, in which the rapper agrees to pay $17,500 up front, and then pretty much double the $7,800 mortgage payment each month to catch up.

It's pretty amazing -- Kelis' lawyer, disso queen Laura Wasser, has claimed Nas raked in $244,826 a month.

According to the docs, the plan is to sell the home asap.

Kelis premiered the brand new video for her second single, "4th of July (Fireworks)” from her album, Flesh Tone. The track is the follow-up to Kelis’s first single, “Acapella.”

Flesh Tone is expected drop in the U.S. on July 6th.

Nas & Kelis

After an eternity of legal war, the marriage between rapper Nas and singer Kelis is officially OVER.  According to TMZ, legal docs were filed last Friday in L.A. County Superior Court, which show that the marriage has been terminated -- but there are still a few more nasty battles to fight ... like child custody and spousal support.

Currently, Nas is ordered to fork over roughly 10k a month for child and spousal support -- which he claims he can't afford.

So, the next round should be all sorts of fun.

Kelis and Nas going at it again.  Nas spoke to VIBE.com recently what's going on between him, Kelis, & Knight.  From the looks of it it sounds like Kelis is making life miserable for Nas.

Nas talked to VIBE about all the custody drama with Kelis:

How old is Knight? Is he walking yet?

He’s like nine months. He’s crawling, pulling himself to stand up. He said the word ‘stick’ about a month ago. He’s been talking for about two months, saying little words here and there.

How often are you able to see him?

My son was born with ice grills, so when his mom feels in the mood she sends pictures. If not, its hell. It’s hell trying to figure that out, trying to get him—I’ll just leave it at that. It’s hell. A man shouldn’t go through that shit, but it’s another story I’ma tell at a different time.

Do you feel a certain way about having the tattoo [of Kelis] now, after everything that’s been going on?
[Laughs] I don’t really think about tattoos, I just think about adding more, you know what I’m saying?

As the saying goes "It's cheaper to keep her".  Nas is finding this out first hand as his lawyer is now petitioning the divorce judge to recalculate the amount of money he has to pay up to Kelis each month because he ain't got it!

According to TMZ:

...a court ordered Nas last month to pay more than $87,000 in back spousal and child support. The judge also ordered Nas to pay Kelis $10,000 a month in spousal support to stay current. It's unclear how much Nas is required to pay in monthly child support.

Nas says in the new legal docs obtained by TMZ ... the judge predicated the order on Nas making $152,031 a month, but the rapper says he makes "substantially less than that amount."

Nas' lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, is asking the judge to take another look at the damage to Nas' wallet.

Kelis recently asked for a rush in her divorce from rapper Nas stating,

“It would be in the best interest of both of us if our marital status is terminated as soon as possible."

According to TMZ, Kelis filed the papers because she fears that the final proceedings could take years to sort out and she wants to resolve all other issues at “a later time.”

She also reportedly added that she doesn't think she and Nas will ever get back together saying,

“I believe there is no possibility of reconciliation with [Nas]."

You ain't never lie!

It looks like rapper Nas is finally catching a break.  We previously reported that Nas was facing a contempt of court charge because he owed his ex wife Kelis$200,000 in backed child support for their son Knight.  Well the contempt charge has been dropped because he recently paid the milk shake singer $50,000 in child support.

A spokesman for Nas confirmed to MTV that he was given some leeway in their court proceedings. The spokesman says that the charge was dismissed and that Kelis' attorney fees and spousal support payments have been taken care of.

Here is the first look at Kelis' album cover for her new album Flesh Tone, dropping June 6th.

Rapper Nas walked into a NYC court on Monday and walked out about $300,00 lighter. 

According to documents filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Nas had to immediately fork over $47,249.42 in back child support and $40,454 in back spousal support. The judge also ordered Nas to pay $10,000/month in spousal support until he pays off the $299,015.50 he owes Kelis.

Nas also has to pay 90% of Kelis’ legal fees in the amount of $155,787.28. Lastly, Nas has to pay $48,549.83 to cover Kelis’ accounting expenses.

Ooocchhh!!!  It would have been cheaper to keep her Nas.  It couldn't have been that bad!
